Dinosaur of the Day #92 - Postosuchus

Fun fact. This guy can take out a Dracoceratops at equal levels with no crit required. Unfortunately I don’t think it’s worth getting that high, but still good to know.

Surprisingly powerful. Very rarely do I see level 20 Posto hanging around the Jurassic Ruins, but when I do, I have to hope that the game has given me one of my faster dinos because this thing packs a punch when it’s powered up.

The 1.7 update increased Postosuchus Damage from 1400 to 1450.

Nice boost but still won’t see it used more often, I don’t think.

Oh so they buff Postosuchus but nerf Postimetrodon? Urghhh I’m still sad over the Postimetrodon nerf :sob:

I really don’t get it either.

It has been nearly a year since the Dinosaur of the Day discussions started and I thought it might be nice to slowly revisit them and see how things have changed.

`Rarity: Rare.
Metahub Tier: Alpha High.
Health: 3600.
Damage: 1450.
Speed: 126.
Defence: 0%
Critical chance: 5%

Defence Shattering Strike.
Ferocious Strike.
Adrenaline Pulse.

I used to see Postosuchus a lot in the early days of the game but outside of strike towers, I cannot recall the last time I saw one. Since the first post, she has seen a very small damage boost but othewise has not changed. While Postosuchus may have once been a handy low level dinosaur she soon became a DNA farm for her hybrid Postimetrodon.

What are your thoughts on this creature in the current meta?

This guy is great when boosted. I am honestly surprised I don’t see more of them in the higher arena, yet I do see Suchotator somewhat often.

This thing is an absolute monster in the tournaments, I always put it on my team. Guaranteed to get a kill.

I do think it is good for it’s rarity. The problem is, as with so many non-hybrid dinosaurs and older hybrids, it gets left behind as newer and better ones come out.

I haven’t seen a superboosted Postosuchus myself, but someone else did.

Fascinating to know that there’s still variety in even the higher arenas.

I remember being so happy when it got dss, because it was the strongest creature on my team. Although I do wonder, did it always have adrenaline pulse?

At least as far back as March last year it did. Whether it started with it I cannot remember.

Resistant to damage over time (50%), speed decrease (100%) and vulnerable (50%).

Postosuchus has seen both her health and damage decrease but she has gained a nice increase to her critical percentage. Her abilities remain mostly the same just updated as per recent updates. She has gained some resistances as well. I’m not so keen on the stat reductions but for the earlier Arena levels and lower level players, Postosuchus remains a nice choice to include on their teams.

I don’t think Postosuchus is a good Raid choice. Damage isn’t good enough and not enough useful abilities.

What are your thoughts on Postosuchus and how would you use her now?

Kinda disappointed that they nerfed her. I was planning on raising her level for future rare tournaments, but now I’m hesitant to do so. I’m sure she’ll do fine, still, just not enough to get me to part with my (rapidly dwindling) coin stash.

Agreed. She was much better before 2,0 dropped.

I wouldn’t waste the coins. I did that before 2.0 and it’s not great now. I can do well, but it just struggles to keep up and do damage. And ceratopsians hurt it even more
