Fanmade Update: Unique and Apex Balance Overhaul

Here is a fanmade update focused around balancing unique and apex creatures. While this update doesn’t add any new creatures, many creatures, as well as some moves, have been changed to create a more diverse meta.

Counter Group Power Heal

Trigger: Counter
Target Team: Heal by 6%.

Swap In Medium Shatter

Trigger: Swap In
Target Lowest HP: Remove Taunt. Remove Shield. Bypass Armor. Attack 0.5X.
Target Self: Unable To Swap for 2 turns.

ABILITY CHANGES

Alert Counter Distraction

  • Now reduced damage by 15% when secure and 25% when threatened.

Alert Fatal Strike

  • Now cleanses all negative effects when threatened.

Cautious Cunning Rampage

  • Renamed to Instant Cunning Rampage

Defense Shattering Wound

  • Applies Damage Over Time for 2 turns instead of 3.

Evasive Wounding Strike

  • Increased dodge chance from 50% to 75%.

Piercing Revenge

  • Renamed to Revenge Rending Lockdown

Piercing Screech

  • Now Increases Crit Chance by 50% instead of 20%
  • Now Reduces Damage by 75% instead of 50%

Toxic Quills

  • Applies 25% Damage Over Time instead of 33.4%

Realistically this update would also add some bug fixes and minor game improvements as updates normally do, but what has been listed is the main focus of the fanmade update.

Is there anything that should be changed? How would the meta look if this update were to happen? Should I make another update dedicated to balancing another rarity? I’ll be happy to respond to any questions or feedback about this update.

How about changing indoraptor’s fierce strike to daring strike.It needs that distraction.

How about changing Parasauth to a Wildcard and Ptero into a Daring?

A minor escape on my entelolania probably will break it lol

I didn’t bother changing MRhino since it’s in a pretty balanced spot in the meta as of now. A few other creatures like Antarctovenator, Gorgotrebax, Quetzorion, and Testacornibus didn’t receive changes for the same reason.

The new Indoraptor already has 2 distracting moves in High Pounce and Instant Ambush, so I don’t think it needs another one.

I actually thought about that while working on the update, then forgot about it when I got to changing Parathops and Vexus :sweat_smile:

Those are good ideas

For Parathops and especially Dilorach you killed their raid use. For Dilo I’d only change resistances, as its shouldnt be too good of a dino. And with Parathops the strike has Tough in the name. Have the strike break shields or bypass armor instead of just removing a heal. And in turn remove the swap in, it doesnt belong. GCPH is a nice idea. Most others I like the changes, nice fan update.

I like these changers, luckily im not the only one who has realsied how bad piercing screech is for an apex signature move.

Dilorach change is decent i dont mind the heal going mainly becasue dilorach is only used for 1 raid and thats mortem which has easier raid strategies now.

One possible change is for entelolania, on escape dig in making him feel less like testa.

The only strike with Tough in the name is Tough Group Cunning Strike and that’s nowhere on here, so what strike are you talking about?

Indoraptor should have breaking shields attack.

Again, that’s not part of the changes made, and what you described with shield breaking and armor bypassing was a Fierce move.

I know. Im saying that instead of changing the heal, the strike should be changed. Plus Parathops should be more fierce.

I think this is a good nerf because no one I fight swaps out when I use Phorurex

In game, it has three Resilient type moves, a counter heal, a Cunning strike, and a Fierce swap-in. I’m for giving Para a Fierce move but not at the cost of losing its only Cunning type move.

Im saying tag on either shield shatter or bypass armor with the cunning strike
