Time for a new creature. Today, we’ll be taking a look at a sauropod that has armor on its body. Ladies and gentlemen, meet the Saltasaurus.
Possible hybrid: Saltacaulus, Fuse with Saltasaurus and Diplocaulus
The name, Saltasaurus, means “Salta lizard”.
If Saltasaurus doesn’t have time for another defense, it will lay on its stomach, and show only its armor while its underbelly is protected. That way, predators won’t be able to bite through it.
Saltasaurus eggs are so thick that egg eaters have trouble getting the gooey stuff inside it.
What’s coming up next?: A nodosaur that runs like an ostrich?
