Prehistoric discussions part 2. Horn or no horn?

Today we will talk about elasmotherium. As most of you know he is also known as the Siberian unicorn but there is a problem. And that is that elasmotherium never actually was found with one. Instead all known skulls contain a giant dome similar to a pachycephalosaurus. This lead some paleontologist to reconstruct elasmotherium with a dome instead of a horn. However since horns of rhinoceros are made of certain wich decomposes we might never now

I’ve seen some modern reconstructions of Elasmotherium having a dome or a small horn.

I suppose it’s possible, but keratin doesn’t fossilize like calcium, which might be what makes it look like it’s a dome

The horns could also break off in the fossilisation process
