Prehistoric info 3: Epicyon

It might seem like I’m spamming threads but I just have a lot of time on my hands rn and don’t know what to do with it.
Anyway, Epicyon!
Etymology: Epicyon means “more than a dog”. It is indeed a canid.
About: Epicyon is a borophagine, or a bone crushing dog. It consists of 3 species, Epicyon aelurodontoides, Epicyon haydeni, and Epicyon saevus. It was 1.5 meters long. It was one of the largest canids to exist. It had a giant head and strong jaws, so its skull was more like a lion’s skull than a wolf’s skull. It was one of the last of the borophagines. Today, the only living subfamily of dogs are the canines.

Epicyon also appears in a documentary called monsters ressurected

I have never seen monsters resurrected before, and I kinda wanna watch it since Epicyon and all of Borophagainae in general don’t get as much recognition in general

He doesn’t have a big role. He is more of a side character. The main creature that the episode focuses on is Amphicyon
