Hello I’m back! This time its something that looks like a dino but was actually a crocodile.
Etymology: Effigia means Ghost. The name was given because it was found in the Ghost Ranch Quarry.
About: Effigia lived in the Triassic. For a long time it was mistaken as a fossil of Coelophysis. It was similar to Shuvosaurus(another dino-like croc). After distinguished from Coelophysis, it was suggested that it was a Shuvosaurus. It was 2 meters long, but at the shoulder, shorter than the compsognathid Scipionyx!
