Good morning or afternoon or evening!
Etymology: Volaticotherium means ancient gliding beast
About: Volaticotherium is usually depicted and might have looked like a flying squirrel or a sugar glider. It lived in the Jurassic alongside things like Pinacosaurus in Inner Mongolia. It was a carnivore, probably eating insects and small lizards. It had adaptations like insectivorous bats to make it resistant to the stresses of flight.
Just like for Scleromochlus, it is hard to see the Volaticotherium in the fossil, so this is a restoration of what it could have looked like.
