I saw an old post about it and just thought I’d add my opinion as well. Apparently the post was too old to comment on. 
Anyway I agree! Same thing happened to me, I was unaware of the counterparts and didn’t know. I was just clicking any of them to just match.
I would love a story/ character reset or or even to be able to match with both. I don’t care about the stories being the same.
At this point since all mine have been grey for a while(some for months now) it would be nice to restart with the counter just to remember the storylines.
