Ludia Forums

The rework of what 2.0 should have been: Pt2

Last time on reworking 2.0 we explained the fundamental flaws of the system and how ludia did almost no proof reading on how changes would effect certain groups, causing things to break and bypass there own system leading to only on group dominant it the arena if you want to read more and in depth look at that check out the link below

Now Let get into probably my longest post ever, i tried this once but unfortunately wasn’t able to do it, bu months later i tried again and finally accomplished it. As me along with @Nighty_201 have reworked EVERY SINGLE CREATURE AND FAMILY IN 2.0. That’s right all 210 creatures and believe me its been a grind. (Although I must stop here to just say @Nighty_201 thank you without your help I would have never finished this list so thanks man hopefully you can relax now cause stego knows I will after this.) Anyway we need to go over some points so you can be caught up on the changes.

—————————————————————————————————————

What has changed:

While the main core concept has stayed the same for the changes we made some stuff has been uttered for the original post along with a few new additions:

Core mechanics
  • Definite/precise shattering move have been completely removed from this version. As it not only breaks the class system but also leaves no way to avoid damage besides distraction and hoping you have enough hp.

  • Stuns are now universal and can effect all classes (resilient, fierce, cunning). This does not mean however that creatures can be resistant or immune to it they can but now their only 3 percentages: 0%, 50%, 100%. This was sone as stun is already super RNG based it seemed dumb to just add even more complicated RNG on top of it.

  • Each class has its own set of immunities/resistances along with weakness/ counters to that class. Core immunities (100%) are immunities that are found in every member of a class. Ex: all fierce creatures are immune to deceleration to counter resilient creatures. Resistances are partial resistant to a certain debuff; they can vary depending on the creature, role, and or hybridization process. ( ^*^ **Note: when 2 different classes are fused both of the core immunities will be reduced depending on the prominent parent or role that creature has; in some case one core immunity will stay while the other gets reduced **)

  • Moves such as Damage Over Time (DoT) and rending moves are now consider fierce moves

  • Fierce moves: destroy shields, bypass armor, cleanse vulnerability, deal 1x/1.5X/2x damage

  • Resilient moves: cleanse distraction, bypass dodge/cloak, remove speed increase, reduce speed by 50% for 1 turn; deal 1x/1.5x/2x damage

  • Cunning moves: Cleanse DoT, remove crit chance for two turns, remove damage buffs,
reduce damage by 50% for 1 turn; deal 1x/1.5/2x damages

  • Dodge: increased dodge to reduce 75% of opponents original damage output

  • Shields: shields will now be counted only by turns.

  • SWAP-INS: After using a swap in effect (either passive or aggressive), the bound effect will last the said amount of turns and CANNOT BE CLEANSED using a healing or cleansing move. Note in spite of this all swaps now only have a 1 turn bound effect

  • Swaps: Automatic and manual swaps ins/outs no longer count as a two different turns. Ex: and run+swap in move = 1 turn

BOOSTS

Ah as one transforming robotic tyrannosaur once said,

IT’S TIME TO TALK ABOUT BOOSTS

You didn’t think I wouldn’t touch on this especially with the new system/reworks. Of course you need to change somethings. Now in terms of changing the whole system I’m not really gonna do that; it’s actually quite balnced now just some small tweaks in distribution and in one category.

(As of level 30)

  • Health: changed to 2% per tier; max 20

  • Attack: changed to 2% per tier; max 20 tiers

  • Speed: changed to .25% per tier; max 20 tiers: (means +5 speed points max)

As you all can see not much has changed most has stayed the same with like just a .5 times reduction in boost power…except for speed. Now raise your hand if you had ever meet/fought a 145 speed boosted thor/maxima/tryko, put you hand up @Ned. We all know this boosts category right here makes or breaks a matchup and allows for balanced to be just absolutely broken. Now as much I would love to get rid of them it would be way to hard to compensate everyone for the amount they had and to find exact numbers. As well as others have pointed it out it also helps with speed ties, making your creatures unique by having their own speed, and it helps look forward for the endgame.

This change on how speed boosts allows for:

  • Fun customization depending on what you creatures role and your play style
  • Allows for way less speed ties
  • Has a clear limit and set backs
  • Allows for counters to be counters still
  • its just balanced and makes the arena way less frustrating

For example now a max level 30 sped boosted thor (109 base) will now only be…114 speed. This mean it can do a better job at countering out things (even some slower counters) but anything after than 115 will be able to counter it. Yes this would require another boost reset but i feel like this is the way to go with boost and trying to keep things balanced.

Some other changes are:

  • You can get boosts from arena rare (5 from each category) and epic (10 from each category) and THEY ARE ONLY AVAILABLE IN ARENA INCUBATORS AND CAN NOT BE PURCHASED

  • Boost strike towers will now give 50 of said boost

  • Boosts can be refunded for 100% of their value at anytime. Meaning yes that this would be the last boost reset.

Now lets move on

Move changes
  • Cautious strike: Deal 1x damage, bypass armor, gain 75% to dodge 75% of opponents damage for 2 turns, reduce opponents damage by 25% for 1 turn.

  • Wounding Rampage: (Deal 2x damage; apply DoT of 25% of opponents max hp for two turns.) Cooldown: 2, Delay: none.

  • Long Dodge: (Priority, Cleanse self. Gain 100% chance to dodge for two turns) cooldown 3, Delay none

  • Swap in Dust Cloud: (Gain 100% shields for 1turn and 50% attack buff for 2 turns after swapping in.) Bound for 1 turn.

  • Distracting counter: (Deal 1x damage, reduce opponents damage by 50% for 1 turn, after receiving and surviving a physical attack) (Medium version is the same except it does 0.5x damage.)

  • Cunning counter: (Deal 0. 25x damage, remove critical chance, remove attack buffs, reduce opponents damage by 50% for 1 turn after receiving and surviving a physical attack.)

  • Swap in Stun: (Gain 100% chance to stun opponent for one turn after swapping in.) Bound for 1 turns

  • Swap in Head Butt: ( Deal 0.5x damage, gain 75% chance to stun opponent or 1 turn after swapping in.) Bound for 1 turn

  • Swap in Stunning strike: ( Deal 1x damage bypassing armor, gain 55% chance to stun opponent for 1 turn.) Bound for 1 turn

  • Dig-In: (Priority, cleanse self and heal (1x). Increase speed for 5% for two turns. Gain 50% shields for 2 turns) Delay 1, cooldown 2.

  • Adrenaline pulse: (Priority, cleanse and heal (1x). Increase attack by 15% for 2 turns) Cooldown 2, Delay 0

  • Adrenaline Surge: (Priority, cleanse and heal (1x). Increase attack by 25% for 2 turns) Cooldown 2, Delay 0

  • Adrenaline Rush: (Priority, cleanse and heal (1x). Increase attack by 50% for 2 turns) Cooldown 2, Delay 1

  • Swap-in Prowl: (Gain 100% to dodge for 1 turn, increase critical chance by 50% for 2 turns after swapping in) Bound for 1 turn

  • Crafty strike: (Deal 1x damage; remove positive effects, bypass armor, gain 75% chance to dodge 75% of opponents damage for 1 turn.)

  • High pounce: (Deal 2x damage; reduce opponents damage by 70% for 1 turn) Cooldown 1, delay 0

  • Long invincibility: (Gain 100% shields for 2 turns; cool down 4

  • Nullifying Impact/Rampage: (remove all positive effects; deal 1.5x/2x damage.) Cooldown 1; delay 1 for rampage

  • Shield advantage: (Deal 1x damage, remove opponents shields, gain 50% shields for 1 turn.) cooldown 1

  • Greater shield advantage: ( Deal 1.5x damage, remove opponents shields, gain 50% shields for 1 turn) cooldown 2

  • Medium-shielding counter: ( Deal 0.5x, gain 50% shields for 1 turn after receiving and surviving a physical attack)

  • Minor Rending strike: (Destroy shields, deal 0.25x of opponent’s max HP as armor piercing damage)

  • Rending strike: (Destroy shields, deal 0.34x of opponent’s max Hp as armor piercing damage)

  • Bellow-advantage: (Priority; remove opponents shields, Gain 50% shields for 2 turns. Reduce opponents speed by 50% for 2 turns) Cooldown 2, Delay 0

  • Instant short defense: ( Priority; gain 50% shields for 2 turns) Cooldown 2

Now here it is the moment we have been waiting for here is every creature reworked, once again but this time following logic and the rules. Note each reworked by class the rarity.

First here some lovely family “portraits” (courtesy of @Nighty_201) explaining in short explaining each roles and abilities.
Yet pls:

SOME OF THESE MIGHT BE A BIT INACCURATE AS THINGS DID CHANGE OVER THE WEEKS AND I DIDN’T WANT TO ADD MORE TO THE ALREADY HUMONGOUS TASK A HEAD OF US BUT BE REST ASSURED WE WILL UPDATE THEM AS SOON AS WE CAN Also yes some are missing in terms of profile pictures. Now the rule for families is there need to be AT LEAST 3 or more members (this is also one ludia made if you look at the family list)

Now thats you have gotten familiar with the families lets get into the reworks shall we…

Also don’t forget to share or mention if you can I want everyone to see this and share their opinions. Also lol mods( @Ned, @Isabelle etc) if you can send this to the devs or head honchos I think it can really help for 2.1.

I would’ve lumped the purru hybrids with the crocs. I also would’ve kept definite rampage as this is a nice thing for spinonyx as I think it’s the ONLY creature with this

But its a fierce creature shouldn’t be able to face Dodgers. Plus again a break the same just for one dinos and that’s a no no

Even ludia has seen the move was too good as like I said they have almost made it extinct themselves. Plus resilient, precise, nullifying and ranking already counter dodge we dont want the meta we have now

I guess. But I would also keep thylac the same as it is now. It shouldn’t have a counter and over 1000 attack. As for spinonyx, it’s never bad to have a jack-of-all-trades. Take mags. It has elements from fierce and cunning, and it’s pretty darn balanced. I don’t think taking that away would really affect it as it still loses to cunning creatures anyways

Lol never mind i got what you were saying. Well we put them with the mediums since well they have that dna in them and they also have that same role shielding counter attackers except now this self buffs and heals and such

But magna isn’t a jack a jack has all three classes and all three way to deal with them ex: Monolorhino, Orion, spino, and tenato. Magna is a cunning fierce but leans more into the fierce aspect due to it being 2/3 fierce and only 1/3 cunning thats why its immune to decel but it more weaker to distraction and also why it has null and distract as those are cunning moves. And spinonyx doesn’t even make sense to be a jack it. Fierce-fierce hybrids or it should be what its made of a fierce self buffing shattering and fierce no escape bleeder. Then if you want to make it good against other fierce you can add cunning which is what spxs is for since then it become cunning-fierce

where did the indos go?

the Spinosauridae would need average speed, other wise they would get destroyed.

Lol 100 extra attack isn’t much especially as only one move does that damage, same with the counter since it also does only 550. Thyla will be super against tanks/resilient creatures, and do well against some fierce given its faster, but cunning will instantly shut it down since it can no longer cleanse distraction with SS and now has to sacrifice doing damage and now forces it to go for DP. Plus again thyla and suchotator cant be jacks they dont have the dna and thats not their role there pure fierce through and through

No really and most do have average speed ther job is tank counter/fierce counter to an extent and now that all of them have no escape, shattering moves and immune to deceleration it will mostly a KO for anything that can’t cleanse or can run

Indos are in cunning fierce down where it says unique and legendary

just seen them, I dissagre on resistances for indo

Which one 1 or 2

the GEN 1 of course
also, why is erlindom in cunning/fierce if it doesn’t have a fierce move?

Suchomim has 4,200 hp and 116 speed

Spino has has 4.6k hp and 113 speed

Suchotator has 4.2k health and 114 speed

Spino G2 has 4.650 k hp and 111 speed

Spinonyx has 4.5 k hp and 118 speed

And all are immune to decel

Cloak…self buffing move along with 1.650 attack… no need for fierce you want that go for indo slow can be distracted but can break armor and shieds

Also what’s wrong with the resistances

I feel like you’ll need it against turtles
also, its not deceleration absence the problem, its the swap prevention
