You're in charge of the PvE battles

Imagine for a second that, for a reason or another, you’re in charge of defining the various rules and properties.
How would you like this new gamemode to be ?
As an example, i’ll start with the way i’d like it : balanced between accesibility and difficulty, while demanding precise strategies against each boss.
Of course you don’t need to be as exhaustive as i’m going to be in this post.

How to start a Coop battle

The same way strike towers will appear on the map, a boss tower can spawn at any place, but with a much lower spawn rate.

Once the player taps on the tower, he sees the identity of the boss, and is given the choice to fight it or to use Suspiscious agents.

After clicking the button, a countdown of 3 minutes will start to allow more players in the area to join.
Note that you can also send a global request, which will summon a beam of light over your current location, allowing bypassing players to know someone needs help.
Note that the maximal amount of players in a lobby is 10.

During this time, the players in the lobby can pick their team for the upcoming battle, and discuss of strategies.
During this time, you can invite your alliance members and friends to help you to fight. Once ready, the group must press a “READY” button to announce that they’re ready to fight.
If the whole group is ready, the countdown will be reduced to 5 seconds, and reset back to where it was if someone clicks “READY” again.

The battle

When the countdown ends, the players are taken to the match, and are asked to send their first dino. Then, like a normal battle, everyone attacks accordingly to their speed/priority.

If someone loses all its team, he is eliminated, and spectates the remaining of the battle. If everyone is eliminated, then the group loses and is sent back to the world map.
However, if they win the boss will collapse in a loud crashing sound, and the group will be granted the win.

Rewards

Base rewards are organized like this :

  1. They are divided in 6 fragments, plus 2 per Suspiscious Chemical used on the boss prior to the battle.
  2. A fragment can contain the following :
  • 1000 Coins (25%)
  • 10 Cash (10%)
  • Rare Scent (5%)
  • Epic Scent (2%)
  • Special Scent based ont the boss species (Random if there isn’t any) (2%)
  • Suspiscious Chemical (12%)
  • 400 Common DNA (16%)
  • 200 Rare DNA (14%)
  • 100 Epic DNA (7%)
  • 25 Legendary DNA (1%)
  • 5 Unique DNA (1%)
  • 20 Corrupted DNA (5%)

But now you might be wondering what’s corrupted DNA. And to recieve an answer to this question, read the “New Rarity” section.

New item : Suspiscious Chemical

The suspiscious chemical is an item that can be looted by bosses or bought with HC at the price of 100HC.
It can be used on a boss to increase the amount of things dropped, or for another thing that i’ll cover later.

Properties of all bosses
  • DoT damage is divided by 5×PlayerAmount
  • Rending damage is divided by 4×PlayerAmount
  • Stuns are PlayerAmount times less likely
  • Debuffs are 2×PlayerAmount less effective
Example : If there are 3 players and one of them uses lethal wound and another uses rending takedown. Rather than dealing 93,3% of the boss health, he will only lose 7,22% of his health.
  • When a boss attacks, he hits all the players at once.
  • For each player in the game, the boss health increases by 80%. The goal is to allow the Coop battles to be challenging for both solos and large groups, while still making it easier.
Boss Moves/Passives
  • Voracity : Upon casting an move, heal for an amount of 25% of Target’s max health. If the move kills an enemy or more, increases to 50%.
  • Stampede : At the beginning of each turn, deals 1x damage, ignoring armor, with 50% chance of stunning.
  • Culling : At the end of the turn, deals 100% attacker’s max health to all enemies. Shields are twice as effective against this move. Can crit.
  • Superheavy : For every 5% of missing health, gain 2.5% of damage reduction
  • Throat Chop : Deals 1x Dmg. Adds a turn of cooldown to all moves that are not basic attacks, preventing the targets to use a strong move for the next turn.
    Cooldown : 2.
  • Blind Rage : Deals 3x Dmg. Ignores armor. Self-lowers attack by 50% for 1 turn. Cooldown : 2
  • Reversal : Buffs turns into debuffs, and debuffs turns into buffs.
  • Armor Piercing Devastation : Deals 3x Dmg. Ignores Armor.
    Cooldown : 1, Delay : 2
  • Hijack : Uses the last move used by an opponent. You keep the move until you die or swap out. The move iniitally has priority, then loses it. The move then has a fixed cooldown of 1 turn. Delay : 1

New Rarity : Corrupted

Upcoming as a potential reward, corrupted creatures are alternative version of bosses that went through changes in order to allow them to be playable.
Here’s some details about this new rarity :

  • Starting level : 16
  • DNA needed to create : 200
  • Border color : Purple
  • In order to create/level up a corrupted creature, you must use a Suspiscious Chemical in addition to coins and DNA.
  • Corrupted creatures can recieve hybrids in the future.

As seen here, the rarity is molded on the legendary rarity, but the farming processus being pretty long, it can be qualified as an intermediate between legenday and unique.

Please note that as someone at 4800 Trophies, i’m sure some galaxy brains out there will find issues. Feel free to say what would you tweak if this was the way Coop battles were implemented, or simply post the way YOU would implement it.

Mabye. Probually no new rarity but like it.

I’m aware they won’t add a new rarity (Unless ?). But i really wish for Ludia to put something that makes them feel like no other creature.

I’m not sure if you made a mistake but one of the boss’s speed it 27

I think there should be two types of Coop battles
Online:
Join up with strangers from around the world to fight these colossal creatures. Bosses will be more of a challenge but the reward is worth it.
Local:
Join your neighbors and family as they fight the local monster. Bosses will be easier but will give less rewards.

That way people who don’t live near people that play(me) can go fight with other people who don’t live near jwa players

Was sure i corrected it, but guess i’ll check back

Edit : i’m currently on mobile, it seems like i can’t change it for now.

Edit 2 : Done

That’s a good Idea, since i’m also the only one still playing in my surroundings (My brother starts the game once every patch.).

I really like the new rarity and dinosaurs but some of their movesets are still a little op

Those are exemples, while stats may be high, you get the concept behind them.
